College Courses

As a student at Nevada State High School, students take dual-credit classes, meaning that they are counting for college credits, and counting as high school credits as well. That way, students can get twice as far in their education, in half the time.

If students join our program as a junior, they have the opportunity to earn an average of 12- 15 college credits a semester or more - which means after graduating high school, students could have 48 or more college credits!

Typically, juniors at NSHS take math, English, and history college courses their first semester, while first year seniors take math, English, and political science college courses. Additional "elective college courses," such as biology, chemistry, psychology, philosophy, music, art, Spanish, to name a few, are permitted depending upon a students academic level.

Students are able to get ahead in their college classes when they show academic readiness and personal responsibility.  At NSHS, we believe that freedom and flexibility are earned through hard-work, dedication, and personal responsibility.
