NSHS Regents Portfolio:


Nevada State High School’s Regents Diploma is the highest diploma offered at NSHS and acknowledges the commitment of NSHS students who are prepared for college through development of their personal, academic, and social skills. Each Regents Diploma recipient has met the requirements for the Advanced Diploma and has met other college readiness standards outlined by NSHS. NSHS Regents Diploma recipients will receive special recognition at graduation above the Standard, Advanced, and Honors Diplomas. The requirements of the Regents Diploma including by not limited to the following:

  • Meet all high school graduation requirements
  • Fulfill Advanced diploma requirements
  • Portfolio of required documents submitted in a 3-ring binder for verification including the following documents:
  • High school academic plans for each semester
  • College academic plan for the transferring college up to a Bachelor’s degree
  • 5 college research forms
  • FAFSA application verification or hard copy mock form (for those not qualifying)
  • College scholarship essay
  • 3 college scholarship applications templates or copies
  • College admittance - post-high school verification or proof of application
  • 60 hours of documented volunteer service as outlined in the volunteer or internship sections of the handbook
  • Average of 12 college credits per semester
  • Show improvement on interview scores from the pre-interview to post-interview
  • Show improvement on resume scores from the 1st submission to the 2nd
  • Show improvement on WorkKeys assessment from the 1st assessment to the 2nd
  • Score a minimum of a Bronze Level on the WorkKeys assessment
  • Take and show improvement between the PSAT and the SAT (or improve on the SAT)
  • Take and show improvement between the PLAN and the ACT (or improve on the ACT)
  • Complete the pre/post Student Readiness Inventory (SRI)

Regents Award


NSHS offers a Regents Award to those who complete the Regents portfolio and graduation requirements, but do not fulfill the Advanced Diploma requirement.

 

To receive valedictorian or salutatorian, candidates must be eligible to receive the Regents Award.
