Governing Body

The role of the governing body of a charter school is to govern the school, maintain overall control of the school, and hold responsibility for operation of the school. The school's administrator and all other employees and contractors, including educational management organizations, serve under the governing body, and are subject to the rulings of the governing body. The governing body critically evaluates the performance of the school's administrator and any contractors with the school, and replaces the administrator or contractor if he or she is not performing duties or providing services in a satisfactory manner.

If parents have concerns or ideas they want to bring to the school, they should express them to NSHS administration. If parents or students feel like their needs are not being met by NSHS administration, they always have the opportunity to be heard at the Governing Body Meetings. These meetings are public and parents/students can make a written request to be put on the public agenda. This is done by addressing a letter to the Governing Body President detailing the concerns or comments and turning the letter into the NSHS administrative office. The Governing Body welcomes parent and students at the Governing Body Meetings.
