Nevada State High School
About the School
Unique to the state of Nevada, Nevada State High School is not only a charter school, but a charter school with dual purpose. Our school may be for high school students in nature, but the word “high school” doesn’t begin to describe the students that attend our institution. NSHS students are high school students who attend real college courses, on real college campuses, with real college professors making our students, in reality, high school aged college students.
NSHS is an early college charter school for juniors and seniors in high school. Students take college courses at universities and colleges in Nevada and those courses count for both high school and college credit. The best part about it – it’s free. NSHS pays for all fees, tuition, and textbooks. At NSHS, students not only attend college courses, but learn how to excel in them and their careers.
After ten years of helping over 700 graduates attend and succeed in college, five Exemplary AYP designations awarded by the State of Nevada, 2013 State rating as a five-star school, and acknowledgement by the US News & World Report as a bronze level recipient for America’s Best High Schools, 2010 and a Silver 2011 recognition for Most Connected Classrooms 2011, we are accomplishing our vision to lead the State of Nevada in transitioning students to college.
Students who are responsible, motivated, show integrity, and looking to get ahead in their education will find what they are looking for at NSHS. Contact our office today or send an email to find out more about the program. It may be the first step that will change your life.
